I usually don't leave negative feedback for people but I have to say my experience with the realtor that I listed my house with was pretty poor to say the least. The first part of listing the house was OK but as we gained interest and had a person that placed an offer on the house several issues came up that I felt were not very professional based off of other realtors that I know and I have used in the KC area. First I felt like the realtor was never available to attend any of the inspections or be a part of any of the in person meetings with the buyer.(I live in Kansas city and this house was at the lake of the ozarks so I was not always able to get there as quickly as a local agent could) Second, I felt like any problem that came up with the house, the agent was always on the buyers side and recommended that I fix it just to please the buyers so the house would sell quickly. I actually got into a verbal argument with the agent about this and thought it was pretty unprofessional to do this. Last and sort of going with my second complaint, any negotiations on the price and repairs always seemed to favor the buyer per my agent. If something came up in the inspections, I was advised to either fix it or drop the price. My impression was that he wanted me to do whatever it took to fix issues so the buyers would purchase the home so that he could get the commission. Regardless if I was losing money on the deal. When you are paying almost $12,000 in real estate commission, you would think the realtor would represent his sellers so that it was in the best interest of the seller. Not the buyer who worked with another agent. And my last complaint is that when my home was sold finally and the sale was completed, all I got was a text saying, "your done". No call to say thanks for your business, no conversation on what did you think and were you satisfied, no can you recommend me to others that might want to sell a house. Nothing. For 7% commission on a house over $200K, I would think I would get something more than a text and some personalized address return labels as a thank you. Who even mails things in an envelop these days where these would be needed? I would not use Jane Kelly or her team of realtors again but thankfully I won't be buying or selling down at the Ozarks again. Its like bizarro world down there. The same rules don't apply there that they do here in the city.
